3 ways to up your sandwich photography game

You’ve made some delicious sandwiches and want to show the world your creation. Show them what’s inside the sandwich rather than just take a top shot right? Worry not, you have come to the right place. I will be sharing some tips I’ve learnt along the way to photography sandwiches.

Let’s talk about my top 3 favorite sandwich shots.

1. Stack ’em up

Cut your beautiful sandwiches in half and stack one on top of another. you can use a toothpick with an olive to secure them in position and go for a shot. Another way is to stack them and hold them with one hand while you take the shot with the other.

2. Leave the sandwiches open

This is a great way to showcase the ingredients inside your sandwich. Just before putting the top slice of bread, take the shot, showing your ingredients, let the colors of each layer play its part.

3. Choice of ingredients for your sandwiches

Now this isn’t a photography hack but trust me, it’s related. Always use fresh ingredients and try to add them to the frame for extra texture. That’s creates a story for your audience, letting them know what you have used in the sandwiches.

Bonus tip : ground pepper scattered in the frame gives a nice rustic feel to it.
