Ingredients

6 eggs
1/4 tsp salt
1 cup milk
1 cup half and half
1/4 cup brown sugar

Toppings

Berries of choice
1/8 cup powdered sugar
handful of pecans
maple syrup

Directions to make a French toast casserole

Mix all eggs, milk, cream, spices, salt and sugar well together

Cut your brioche into rough pieces and place them in your baking dish. Pour the egg mixture of the brioche and let it soak up all the flavor overnight in the refrigerator. This recipe can also be done within an hour of soaking but trust me, it just tastes richer when soaked overnight.

I also like to add half the berries before baking so they release their flavors into the casserole. You can also add the pecans at this point.

On the morning of serving, cover the baking dish with a foil and bake at 375F or 190C for 35-45 mins and then bake uncovered for another 15 so the top is nice and golden. Check constantly at this point to prevent from burning.

Top with the rest of the berries, powdered sugar and maple syrup to your heart’s content.
